Allegra Celebrates Earth Day This Month and Every Day!

print replant Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22nd to raise awareness and support for environmental protection. The first Earth Day was held in 1970, and it is now observed by millions of people in over 190 countries around the world. This year, Allegra in Carol Stream began two new initiatives that has now become part of the everyday fabric of our organization.

  1. Our Print|Replant Program: For every tree we use to produce our customer's print projects, we replant two trees using a nonprofit international tree planting organization. It's our promise for a greener tomorrow.
  2. Allegra in Carol Stream has earned the Forest Stewardship Council’s® (FSC®) Chain of Custody certification as a group member of the Regional Affiliate Certificate Group.

What Does FSC Stand For?
FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining high standards of environmentally and socially responsible forestry practice.
For example, if you receive a flyer with the official FSC symbol on it, this means the paper used to create that flyer and the manufacturer met the standards set by the FSC.
The Forest Stewardship Council was founded in 1994 and has since become one of the most recognizable, respected, and widespread forest certification schemes. The certification scheme currently covers over 200 hectares of forest, enabling businesses and consumers around the world to access responsibly managed materials.

If you would like your next print project produced using FSC-certified materials, be sure to ask for it when you place your order.

As we celebrate Earth Day this month, you can be assured that Allegra in Carol Stream is doing our part to protect the environment for all of us and for future generations.
